Kristan holds a Masters degree in Comparative Religion from the Faculty of Ushuluddin, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University, Jakarta. Currently he works as a lecturer in Character Building at Bina Nusantara University and lecturer in Confucianism at various universities in Indonesia.
Kristan is very committed to promoting interreligion and intercultural dialogue. In 2009, Kristan represented the Republic of Indonesia from the Indonesia Youth Confucian Generation delegation in the 5th Regional Interfaith Dialogue Forum Leading Leaders of the Future

Kristan also as Alumni Fellowship of King Abdulah Bin Abdul Aziz International Centre of Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID) 2016-2017, Vienna, Austria and Mindanao Peace Building Institute (MPI)
Alumni 2016 Davao City, Philippines. In 2019 Kristan attended the International Conference on Cohesive Societies (ICCS) in Singapore.
